Get Wet!

I can't believe it isn't even mid-June and the kids are swimming in our little pool and splashing in whatever water toys we could find! It was so hot yesterday and a great chance to cool off! As you can see, Lindsey has no fear. She is sliding down head first. She keeps her head up in the water too so she doesn't get a nose full! She is a trip, following right in Jacob's footsteps! (PS--I took these when she was getting really tired, you can see she is barely making it up the steps)!

Where is that water coming from?

Last Saturday Lindsey was playing in the lake and then decided to play on the little beach in the sand. Before long, I noticed her checking out her butt. Water was dripping from her swim diaper and she was desperately trying to catch it. It was so funny! She nearly fell over trying to catch it!

Camp Wabasso

Not in a million years did I think I would be camping this past weekend. Call me a wimp, a girly girl, a sissy, but you know, I think I rather be in a hotel at the beach! I will take sand over bugs any day! Jacob has been begging to go camping so we decided to take advantage of a free military family camp about an hour from home. However, if we were going, I was definitely going to bring the Sweet family with us! Little did we know that we would all be bunk buddies too. Annabelle and Jacob had a fantastic time, as do most 5 year old kids! The toddlers did OK, they loved the swimming and sand. Sleeping wasn't as easy for them or their mothers. Lisa and I decided to take the little ones home Saturday night and bring them back on Sunday. It was definitely the right decision. Overall, it was a good time. I only have about 10 bug bites on my left arm, must be my sweet side. On to the next adventure!

Parade

Last year we were home for the Memorial Day parade so we made it a point to be there again this year. Then we headed home for yard work, unpacking, groceries, and a busy week! Check out the picture from last year's parade, my how they have grown!!

Fish in the Water

They are just like me when I was a child. I didn't care how cold the water was, if it was warm outside I was in the pool! Both of our kids love the water. On Sunday when we got home we had a cook-out at our cousin's house and swam in the pool! I think the temperature was 77 in the pool, good thing Lee brought a swim suit and I didn't (sucker)! (love you hun)

Breakfast and A Bike Ride

We wrapped up our weekend in Brooklyn with breakfast and a bike ride on the Promenade. It was wonderful and we will miss Brooklyn! Jersey better get ready for us!

A Night in the City

We headed to dinner at a French Restaurant and if you have ever eaten in NYC you know that 6pm is very early! That worked for us because it wasn't crowded at all but the food was Amazing! After dinner we walked to see the site of the WTC towers, Lee had never seen it. Finally he saw what he has been fighting for! It always is a bit shocking and sad. Jacob asked what we were looking at while we were there. We told him an edited brief version and he said, "I am glad Daddy is getting those bad guys." Someday we will tell him the whole story.
After that we headed back to Brooklyn where we had dessert. We decided at first on cupcakes but then decided to get them to take home. We opted for ice cream again instead and sat outside and ate it! It was the end to a perfect day!
