5 More Days!

Only 5 more days till Leah and Jacob's birthday! We are so super excited! We are taking Jacob out to the Texas Roadhouse (his choice) and we will be celebrating Leah's party on Saturday! I can't believe almost 4 years ago Jacob was born! He is such an awesome kid and I am so lucky to be his mom! I love him to pieces and I am so proud of the little boy he is!

ABSOLUTE BLAST!!

OMG!!! Tonight was an absolute blast, but really, anything we do with the Charlton's seems to be that way! We were invited to the Charlton's for dinner tonight, which sometimes can be a challenge for us being that Lindsey goes to bed so early. She is very routine and likes her 6pm bedtime! She was really great until about 6:00 on the dot. But luckily, Leah is still in a crib so we put Lindsey's jammies on her and put her in Leah's crib and she slept like an angel. She never woke up, not even when we put her in the carseat or took her out and put her back in her own crib. She is such a great baby!
So, not only did we have a delish dinner (thanks Jen) but we had a night of dancing! Yep--dancing and boy do I love to dance! Jen got a new game for her bithday called Just Dance, for Wii. I have not laughed or shook my booty that much in a long time, what a workout! Seth and Jacob played all night like best buddies and the adults rocked out!
Thanks to the Charlton's for a super fun night! We will be heading to Wal-mart to get that game this week! Get your dancing shoes on Aunt Laurie!
Unfortunately, I was so hooked on dancing that I only took 2 pictures! Leah with the jeans hangin' low and the kids chillin' out! Lindsey was fast asleep!

Friday Night

This past Friday night Lee and I attened the Officer's Spouse's Club Silent Auction. We had an absolute blast and on top of it, the OSC raised a ton of money to donate to our welfare and scholarship funds. I am so proud to be part of this organization. Lee and I had fun bidding and we ended up winning tickets to a museum and 4 rounds of golf. This means more golf lessons with Jen. I can't wait! Hopefully by Sept we will be ready for 18 holes!

Is it summer yet?

On Friday it was sunny outside and snow was melting! Not enough to see the grass just yet, but none the less, it was dripping off the roof. Jacob looked at me in the kitchen and asked, "Is it summer yet Mom?" Not quite but it is so nice to see the sun. I decided to put Lindsey in this outfit from Aunt Lauire, she is a daisy. Maybe dressing her up to look like a flower will inspire Spring to some soon!

Time to Roll!!

She did it! Lindsey rolled from her belly to her back. Of course only once so I couldn't get it on camera. She has been trying to go from back to belly and gets really close but not yet all the way over. She is getting so big! She is grabbing at toys and is absolutely in love with Jacob. She giggles at him more than anyone or anything else! We are so lucky and blessed with 2 awesome kids!

Pretty In Pink

Thanks Aunt Donna for this adorable outfit! Lindsey and I spent the day together going to a meeting and a luncheon. Everyone loved the outfit! I could just squeeze her!

A New Haircut and Another Ear Infection!!

Well, I thought we were in the clear but not yet! Lindsey had her 4 month well baby check-up. She weighs 15lb.12oz and is almost 25 inches long. The PA asked me if she was feeling well. I told her Lindsey hadn't been sleeping all that well the last couple nights but I didn't want to seem paranoid. Well, I found out why...she has a double ear infection! I pray that this doesn't become a habit with her! So, she has been pretty happy but you can tell she tugs on her left ear and gets a bit cranky during the day. I hope she feels better soon!
Jacob got his haircut on Tuesday night by Seth's Aunt Dana. She did a great job even though Jacob kept complaining about the hair making his back itch! What else is new--I think it was just his way of getting me to scratch his back!

Thoughts for the week ahead!

1. I pray that our kids stay healthy for the rest of winter!
2. I pray the time goes by as slow as it can and that we have as much fun and quality time together as a family that we can until we send Lee off! It makes me so sad to think about him leaving again, but I am crossing my fingers that it won't be for long!
3. I can't believe my baby boy is turning 4!

End of a busy week...

This picture sums it up! Jacob falls asleep waiting for his pancakes! The end to a fabulous week!

Jacob's 4th Birthday Party!!

This year Jacob decided he wanted a hockey themed skating party for his 4th birthday! Today we celebrated with all his friends at the Ice Arena. I am so glad there were so many parents who knew how and were willing to skate! Most of the kids had never been ice skating before but they all gave it a try and had a blast! We decided to keep Lindsey at home with our sitter, it would have been to crazy to have her there, but we missed her! Jacob had a wonderful day, he skated for almost 3 hours total, first with his friends at his party and then at hockey practice afterwards! He never stopped on the ice but he crashed in bed at 630pm after I made him pancakes for dinner! It was a super fun day! We love you Jacob! There are so many pictures, I will add them in batches!

Another Hockey Player in our Future?

As most of you know, Jacob plays hockey and loves it! I think he may be a natural, at least his Aunt Becky thinks so! Well, it seems like every time Lee watches a hockey game on TV and he has Lindsey on his lap, she becomes engrossed in the TV. I caught her on Saturday afternoon sitting on Lee's lap, zoned in to the hockey game on TV. She can't get enough of it! It must be the colors and the movement, but it just cracks us up! Here she is watching hockey with Lee! Maybe another hockey player in our future?

Winter Fun!!

I guess one of the great things about having a huge yard is being able to share it with friends. On Saturday, the Charltons brought over their quad. They hooked up a sled to the back and tried pulling Jacob and Seth on it. It didn't work out so well, but they had a blast riding around on the quad, sledding, having snowball fights, etc. Leah even got a sleigh ride from Jen and Lindsey and I went outside to see the action as well! Then we all came inside to warm-up and have some lunch! It was a great day!

A NEW CAR!!

Jacob got a new car! His Aunts went in on a birthday gift for him and bought him the new Power Wheels Stinger! He had no idea it was coming and was shocked when he saw it! After it was all put together, he decided it had to stay in the house for a while just so he could sit in it. At one point, I saw him sitting in it and watching TV! On Saturday he finally got a chance to drive it! He loves it! Thanks Aunt Laurie, Aunt Becky and Aunt Donna!

I love to eat and sleep!

This week we are trying cereal with Lindsey. We tried some bananas and pears but I don't think her tummy is quite ready. For now, we will stick to cereal, and she loves it! On Wednesday, I gave her cereal and then left her in the highchair (buckled in of course) to wash a few dishes. By the time I got back she was sucking her thumb and fell fast asleep. Nothing like a good bowl of oatmeal and a nap!

Mardis Gras--Fat Tuesday!!

Lee and I lived in Louisiana for 3 years and during that time we celebrated Mardis Gras. Two times we celebrated in New Orleans and the year he was deployed, I celebrated with friends in the old cajun country. All three experiences were so different yet a ton of fun! This year we decided to get together with some of our best friends, the Charltons and the Sweets. I made Gumbo and Lisa made Jumbalaya, they both were delicious! We ate till' our bellies were full and kids played till' they crashed! It was a blast!

A Look Back...

We had a week full of fun. Last weekend the Boys went to Pittsburgh to visit the Castanas and had a blast. While they were gone, Lindsey and I took a trip to Nana's. We all got home safely on Valentine's Night. Lee and I celebrated our 1st Valentine's Day in 1998, the year after we met. We were at Gannon University and he took me to dinner at Marketplace Grill and then to see Disney on Ice! It was perfect. This year he sent me flowers and bought me beautiful pictures we had taken of Lindsey. He really is a wonderful husband, always putting the kids and I first. I love him dearly and I guess that is why he is my Valentine.

Something New....

If I didn't think I was busy enough before, I now am going to attempt to start a blog and keep up with it. I see so many of our friends' blogs and I really enjoy reading them so why not give it a try. This way all of our family can check out what is happening in our world, especially since we don't live near any of them. And of course our friends that we have met along the way. Never in a million years did I think I would be an Army wife, but I am, and I love it! I hope you enjoy our blog and I will do my best to keep it updated! Welcome to our life!
