In the blink of an eye....

It is crazy how fast a month can fly by! While it is exciting to think that one month of school is done, and fall is in the air, I also have a terrible countdown in my head I wish would just go on pause. But instead of sulking, we are soaking..soaking up every bit of warm weather and every bit of family time we can. September was a month of meeting Jacob's teacher, Farmer's Market Wednesdays with Lindsey, hikes, a girls weekend in NYC, swim lessons and the beginning of hockey!

Good-bye.....Hello!!!

Good-bye Ice cream outside!!
Hello!! Apples, applesauce, apple crisp, apple cider, apple cider donuts

Reflect

It is hard for anyone to put into words just what Sept 11th means to them, how it affected or still affects them today. This past Wednesday was the first time I showed Jake and told him what really happened that day, he still didn't fully understand but asked a lot of good questions. After picking up Lindsey and leaving the dentist, we spent some wonderful time together, and I wish I could snapped these two pictures as one. She was staring, or seemed to be, at the flag as we munched on lunch. I squeezed her a little harder.

First Timer

Wednesday was the dreaded first trip to the dentist for Linds. I think she was a bit freaked out by all the stuff at first but prio to going I told her she would not just get a toy from the dentist but some shiny glossy lipstick on her teeth. So when the hygentist mentioned the shiny polish for her teeth, all worries were gone!

NY Adventures

Even thought summer is over, we have decided to keep enjoying our little day trips and adventures, we love family days. This past Sunday we loaded up and stopped at the Cider Mill for donuts before heading to Salmon River Falls, a beauiful area to hike and enjoy the peace and quiet, all while yelling at our children to not get too close and not to get hurt of course!

Back to School

The day before the kids went back, they had a chance to play with their best buddies. We don't get to see them as much during the school year with our crazy schedule so once last chance to play together was fine by them! (although Leah and Linds see each other every day lol) Back to school. Jake started 2nd grade at Sherman and Lindsey started 5 1/2 days a week preschool. They are both doing well and really love school!

YOLO!!

We have a family member who recently named his new business "YOLO" and we decided to take that theme and apply it to our entire summer. The picture of us jumping off the pier at Wellsley Island sums it up! We took full advantage of our summer here, it may very well be our last for a while. There is no doubt that we do love it here and all that NY has to offer but I think this time next year will find us on a new adventure. My mother in law once said this summer, "you guys are so busy, always doing something" and she couldn't have said it better. I am not quite sure I could name everything that we did but to sum it up, we had an utter blast! We boated, we jet skied, we camped, we vacationed at the beach, we visited family and friends, zoos, parks, theme parks, soccer and hockey camp, Beaver Camp 2x, gymnastics, bike rides, fairs, and so much more! We are now back in the swing of the school year, home work, hockey, swim lessons and lots of fun fall activities. I may not be the best blogger, but I will do my best to keep up! Happy Fall!
