Valentine's Projects, Cookies and Milk, A New Booster and A Lost Tooth!!

Yep...that pretty much sums up our last few days! It was so bitter cold last week that school was actually cancelled on Wed and there was a delay on Thurs. You know it is cold here when that happens. So, we spent some time on Wed making Valentine's crafts to decorate the house with. --Lindsey got a new booster seat last week that she loves! --Jacob and I had our after work/school treat together at the hospital of milk and cookies. I absolutely love this time together with him, even if it is for 15 minutes. We catch up on our day! --Lee lost a tooth playing soccer-I spared him the real picture of his pretty smile and put up this one instead. --Jacob shared Seth's birthday with him all day on Saturday, he was so excited and grateful to spend his special day with him. Lee and I skied for a couple hours in the afternoon and then Lee, Lindsey and I had dinner and a movie on Sat night. --It is hard to believe it is the end of the month. January usually drags on but this month seemed to fly by! We have so many fun weekend planned on Feb and we are super excited!

Ski Trip

Last year, we went with the Charltons to Bristol Mtn in Rochester, NY to ski but Jake was in PA and didn't get to come. Lee was determined to get back there this winter with Jacob. Last Monday, we did just that. The Charltons couldn't make it but graciously watched Lindsey for us for the day (thanks again)!! We had an amazing day together and Jake loved it, especially the half pipe, he has no fear! It was a bit cold and snowy but I guess that is all part of the ski experience!

Girls Just Wanna Have Fun

Two Thursdays ago, Lindsey had a special play date with her BFF. I picked the girls up from school, we played outside, we ate lunch and then we played salon. I gave the girls their first realy salon type experience and they loved it! Next time, it will be a realy mani/pedi, it's not too early for that, is it? :)

Cheers

Looking ahead we are excited about what this year will bring. We are already filling up our calendar and plan to make this a great year. You never know what the future holds and while I wish I could think of life day by day, I am a planner, I always will be. So, my calendar has plans on it as far out as August but we will always appreciate each day we have together.
Cheers to 2013!

Fast Forward 2013

Can it really be that we just had another year at Fort Drum? I think we may hit the record books soon, but lucky for us, we get another year here! We rang in the New Year with Friends, red neck style! Let's catch up...Jacob is still playing hockey however he was recruited in Nov/Dec to play on the 8 year old team, the Junior Jags. He was so excited, I was incredibly nervous, but he is doing awesome! He even had a hat trick in one of his recent games. He has definitely proved to himself, the coach and his teammates that he deserves to be on the team! He works so hard and it is paying off. He has also become quite the little skier, he wants to go every weekend. He skies way better than his parents, although that isn't saying much! Lindsey still loves school and wants to have a playdate with Leah every day. The best thing about that, I use the word Leah whenver I need to accomplish things with Lindsey, stop a melt down, or need her to finish what she is doing i.e., eating, getting dressed, getting out of the tub, etc etc :) Leah is a house hold name. Lindsey and Jacob love to be in the snow any chance they get. She was so sad when our Frosty melted. We are actually praying for more snow soon. Not only do they love it, but man, it wipes them out after a good hour of playing in it! That means quiet time for me! :) Lindsey also has taken a liking to skiing. She has had 2 lessons and asks when she can go again. We are excited for her to learn as well!
As for me, I am juggling work, kids, house...typical mom stuff. Lee is busy with work and started his classes online, he has already taken and passed multiple tests for his course work. It honestly seems a bit weird that we won't be going to Kansas like so many others do, but..we are perfectly fine with staying here.

December....Rewind

The first 2 weeks of December were a bit of a blur in our house. Lee was away for work and Jacob spent much of his time sick. He tried out for a musical in Sackets Harbor at the Playhouse and was spent hours practing his part of an Elfette. There were five shows but unfortunately, germs got the best of Jacob. He was still able to do 2 shows, the first and the last, and he was perfect in each of them! I was so proud of him! Nana and Papa even got a chance to see him perform! After that, we had one more week of sickness and then we were on the road to recovery. Lee was coming home and we were in the Christmas spirit. We decorated the house, we shopped, we made cookies and a gingerbread house and we got ready for the Man in the Suit. We drove home to PA to spend Christmas with the Smith clan and had a wonderful holiday with family. A few drinks, a birthday cake for me, delicious meals, lots of laughs and a little bit of singing mixed in (in the kitchen of course)!

Guilty....

I am guilty as charged...my husband has told me how he misses my updates and how seeing pictures on our blog makes him smile a little more at work each day; then I realized my friends are totally are on the ball and I have not blogged in almost 2 months! Holy crap..the guilt. I vow to blog again, well, at least once a week. This is a crazy life, it is our life, but it is crazy. There are nights (much like right now) when I look at the clock and feel like I have no idea where the hell the last 14 hours went to and how in the world did one day go by that fast?!!
