more to come....

I have soooo much more to blog about from out trip...stay tuned!

One More Night to Play and Eat

Monday night was our last night with the Castana's. We had dinner at Lee's sister's house and the kids had a ton of fun together. The weather was warm, finally, and they played outside for a few hours. Jacob and Katie play so well together and have a ton of fun, it is hard to say good-bye when we have to leave. It was a great visit!

Dinner with Great Grandma

We always have a special visit with Lee's Grandma when we are there. It was no different this time. She will be 91 years old this year and she looks wonderful. She and Aunt Beverly had dinner with us at Grandma's on Sunday night. Jake had a great time playing with his cousins. They opened Easter eggs and played outside!

Saint Jumpy House

Palm Sunday mass was a bit different this year. We attended Lee's parents church is Free Methodist. They had a nursery, preschool classroom, a cafe, flat screen TVs throughout showing the service and this very cool, mostly soundproof room. Unfortunately, Lee and Jake saw about 20 mins of the service while I spent the entire hour dressed for church in the jumpy house. Did I mention that her congregation just purchased a new church, it was a car dealership. It was a bit odd walking in but everyone was very friendly and from what I did hear, the service was very nice. We said our prayers to the God of the Jump House, I am sure our God will understand!

A Step Back in Time

Isn't this cool, it looks just like a medieval castle! Complete with fire lit torches, a waterfall, knights, tall back chairs, etc etc. Wait a second...that looks like the place where Lee's mother works....well...it is!! Can you believe one of those tiny buildings is her office? It is super cool and the kids loved exploring in it!

Rainy Days

We had a bit of rain over the weekend we were at my in-laws. Never fear though...my in-laws always have lots of toys from when my nephew and niece (and Lee) were younger. They kids had plenty of things to keep them busy. Fresh pancakes every morning, swords and rifles for Jacob, a whole basement to play hockey in, a few baseball games outside, baby dolls and musical toys for Lindsey equals a good weekend for them!

Lindsey's 1st Haircut!

Both of our kids have had a very special person give them their first haircut! Grandma!! We decided it was time for Lindsey to have hers while we were there. She sat on my lap reading books, getting a neb treatment while Grandma cut her hair and I don't even think she realized what was happening. We just wanted to cut it to make it even, it was growing in 10 different directions. She gave her the cutest bob and as soon as she was finished the curls sprung up! It looks adorable! Thanks Grandma!

Our PA Tour

On April 14th we were loaded up and ready for our long but exciting trip. Sort of a triangle if you map out. We left Watertown and headed to Pittsburgh first. We decided to break up the trip though and take a detour down memory lane. Neither Lee or I have been back to the college we attended and met at since we graduated. It was awesome. It brought back a flood of memories! Some things look the same but there are so many new buildings including a new football field. We hope to get back in the fall for a game! After a 5 hour trip, we checked in to the hotel and then headed to Presque Isle Park, a favorite of ours and let the kids burn off some energy. That night we ordered in and slept like logs. The next morning we packed up and headed downtown to Gannon. First stop--to see Lee's professor that introduced us. We decided to surprise her and she was beyond thrilled. Then we walked around campus and took a ton of pictures. Before heading out we swung by the tower on the Lake where we shared many special moments. It was a great stop on our way to Pittsburgh.

Something Sticky and Yummy

I recently introduced Jacob and Lindsey to Ritz crackers with PB and Fluff. They loved it and it was our Wed night treat 2 weeks ago, before the big trip!

Friday, April 8, 2011

Today Jacob and Lee had to take a trip to Syracuse to get our Pilot fixed. They were able to drop off the radio then go to the zoo. Back here, Lindsey and I spent the day together as well. We went outside for about an hour, she loves it just as much as Jake does. She loves to walk around the yard, swing, climb up and down the steps, ride in her car, etc etc. She did enough playing to take a 3 hour nap today!

NYC!

This past weekend my friend Jen and I took NYC by storm. After a long year of worrying and 24/7 of mommy-hood, I was ready for a weekend of fun. Although, I did call home at least 4 times a day! We basically had a weekend of eating and we are all trying to work it off this week! We ate at a Melting Pot in NJ (Jen's life long dream), and then ate our way to downtown NY from China Town, to Italy, Cupcakes, Asian, and back to dessert that night! However, I think we did about 6 hours of walking that day to keep our metabolism going! Jen took so many pictures, I think one of every piece of food we ate!
Thanks to my sisters and Jen for a fabulous weekend! I can't wait to do it again! And thanks to Lee and Ro for taking on the munchkins!

A New Look

Look out Tiffany's, Lindsey may have a new look! Last week the little over-the-door basketball hoop fell down. Leave it to our daughter to wear it as a necklace! She is too much!
