A Glimpse

I took about 8 videos but I tried not to record too long so I could easily upload them for you all to see! Here are a couple from his performances! Enjoy!

A True Show Stopper!

This weekend was a whirlwind to say the least, we may actually be bored this week! Thursday night was Jake's first performance in the Miss Saigon opener! The entire cast was amazing from start to finish, singing, dancing, keeping an eye on Jake, and making us all feel welcome, plus they paid him an extra special visit at his school on Friday to sing with his class and share cookies. Jake was overjoyed to take part in the musical! Friday was his second performance and he got a surprise visit from Aunt Laurie, Nana and Papa who came up just to see him! Today was the last performance, his best buddy stayed to watch, and they both were called on stage for the curtain call. It was so special, something neither Jen or I will ever forget, and I don't think the boys will either. The boys took lots of pictures with the cast and had them sign the backs of their shirts for a keepsake. I think it is easy to say that the music is now playing on both our IPods and they boys are hooked, they are asking when they get back on the stage! We might have future thespians on our hands, I love it!

A little smarter and a bit bigger!

It is hard to believe, but Jacob hit the 100 day mark of school last week! Jake's class had a fun day with 23 snacks (each measuring 100 in count) to share in class. It was a very special day!

The Call

At 8am on Monday morning I got a phone call from my neighbor. She is one of the directors of the musical, Miss Saigon, put on by the Watertown High School Select Chorus. I have taken Jake to see many of their shows but little did I know Aunt Ann was calling to see if Jacob could be in this show! I didn't think he could do 5 shows and I knew just who to call, his best buddy! After telling the kids where we were taking them Monday night, they were both super excited. They had practice last night and tonight and they did awesome! They both loved being on the stage and had no fear. Jacob is going to be in the play on Thurs, Fri and Sun and Seth is doing 2 performances on Saturday. It worked out perfect and we couldn't be more proud or excited for them! Here are a few glimpses of them. My camera didn't take the best pictures but you get the idea!

Souper Bowl
Lindsey chowing on some pizza!
Skiing at Dry Hill
Skiing, Drinking, Eating, Hockey and Football...that pretty much sums up our weekend.. Throw in some great friends and that equals a fabulous weekend!
Friday night we stopped over the Charltons to pick up skis which Roland found for us in Syr..it was like Christmas morning for me and Lee! More like Happy Valentine's Day I guess...
Saturday we took Jacob to Dry Hill so we could try out our new skis and he could take another lesson. He took a lesson only after we realized he probably didn't need it. He went down the hill a couple times with Roland, got his confidence and that was the last I saw him. It was as if he had always known how to ski. He and Lee skied almost 5 hours on Saturday. We really love it and I hope Lindsey can learn next year, it is a great way to spend some family time together. Saturday night 10 of us went out for Jen's birthday. We always have a great time! I had a few too many drinks and realized Sunday morning that I am no longer 24. Ouch!
Sunday Jake had hockey and then we headed over to the Sweets for their annual Superbowl Bash. This year instead of chili we all brought soup. I was the winner last year but this year, mine didn't fair so well. I got the prize for last place---a bottle of Tums, if I had only had it that morning instead!
We couldn't have asked for a better weekend...unless maybe the Niners and Steelers were in the Superbowl!
