Fun in the Sun

This past weekend, Lee took the boys camping (the boys spent the night) but the girls joined them for the whole day at the beach! It was the perfect beach day, the water temp was refreshing, the waves were just the right size, and the kids got along really well! The kids were all excited to meet Sam who is visiting for the week. They played in the sand, swam in the water, cooked out, camped out and took extra long naps on Sunday, I guess you can say it was a great weekend!

Graduation Party

On the night of their graduation, we decided to take the boys out to celebrate, Hibachi style! They loved it! They laughed, did lemondade shooters (no sake for them), and ate with chopsticks. After that, Seth spent the night at our house for another sleepover, the boys had a great time! The next day I took the kids to Lee's org day picnic on Fort Drum. It was 90 degrees outside but they seemed to have a great time, what a fun way to wrap up the first year of school!

Oh The Places You'll Go!!

The first day of Kindergarten seems so long ago, but it is all over now! Jacob is on his way to 1st Grade! He is taller, smarter, funnier, older, etc etc! We are super proud of him! He had a great year with lots of memories! Now for some summer fun!

NYC #2

We did it, our second girls weekend in NYC! Jen and I left last Wed night and took NYC by storm for 2 days, thanks to my sisters, our tour guides and partners in crime ( I mean fun)!! We went to a live taping of The Chew, Canal St, had dumplings, dessert in Little Italy, quarter size delicious mini cupcakes on the street, a little shopping, we ate at Pippa (a tapas bar which was so good), Ellen's for lunch, frozen hot chocolate at Serendipity, a little more shopping, and dinner and drinks at a Southwestern restaurant with my sisters and some friends! We laughed, we cried, we ate and ate some more! It was so much fun! Thanks to our wonderful husbands for taking on the kids and more! Thanks to my sisters for a wonderful time and spending 2 crazy days with us! We know next year may be difficult to plan, but we are going to try our hardest to make trip #3!

Life on a Lake

What is better than looking at the boats on the lake? Having friends that own a boat on the lake!!! We are truly lucky to have great friends with a fantastic boat! It really is the perfect boat for a family and some friends that love to join them on the water!

Rock Out!

Not only are we all best friends, but we are friends rockin' out to fight cancer! Last Friday we spent the night at Relay for Life with the Charltons and we all had a blast! The kids played for hours, we danced, we cheered on the survivors (including Roland) and we helped rock out cancer! We were grateful to be on their team!

Our First Field Trip

I am blessed, there is no doubt about it. Recently, I had the chance to go on Jacob's first field trip. I guess, it was technically his second (the first one he walked to the Dairy festival) but this was the "real" field trip. It is definitely something I want to do every year and never want to miss out on! We had the opportunity to bus to Alexandria Bay to the Nature Center. The kids broke up into groups by class and each had a chance to do a scavenger hunt, a nature walk looking for hidden gems, the local Zoo came to show 5 animals, a boat ride to look for blue Herons and other animals the kids were learning about in school, a second nature hike and a picnic lunch. It was a fantastic day with Jacob and his friends, I can't wait till next year!

Parade #2!

There aren't many weekends around this area when there isn't a parade. A couple weekends ago, we loaded up the kids, met up with some friends, and went to the General Brown Parade. Last year this parade was pretty good, this year, the kids were happy just eating Kettle Corn! Parades without candy don't do rate well with our kids! Yikes, I think we created parade snobs!

Roll On!

I have been a little lax with my blog, I guess it's because we have been outside enjoying the weather! Here are some pictures from roller skating night! The kids loved it! Lindsey skated in her plastic Fisher Price skates for over an hour and Jake skated for almost 2 hours on his roller blades! We figured it was like summer hockey practice! i
