Dear God....

Dear God, Please bring him home and all our troops as soon as possible, safely. We love and miss you each second of each day. Can't wait to see you again!

Soaked....

We tried our best to soak up every bit of family time we could in the last few weeks. I think we did a pretty good job, even though, no one wanted to give it up! I can't wait to take more pictures just like this!

Then and Now

The picture on the bottom was Jacob at 3 1/2, his first time standing up on the ice, his second hockey lesson. Look at him now! He amazes us and his coaches. His love for the game hasn't changed at all, well, maybe its even stronger! He puts his heart in to every practice and we are so proud of him! Can't wait to watch his games this year!

Jacks

Friday night the kids carved their pumpkins with Lee. Thanks goodness Lee was home because digging out the slimy inside of pumpkins is really not something I enjoy. I am the pumpkin seed baker and the picture taker, perfect jobs for me! They had a great time and can't wait to light them up this week!

Splish Splash

Last week Lindssey finished another round of swim lessons, she is a little fish! We are taking a break for the winter to avoid frozen hair after lessons, but we hope to have her back in the pool in the spring. I have a feeling she will be swimming all by herself next summer! She has been practicing without a noodle! Way to go Linds!

Stand In Grandmas...

Last week was a grandparents breakfast at Lindsey's school. She is so lucky to have 2 Watertown grandmas who love her very much and invited her to breakfast. She loved spending time with them and her best friend Leah. Thank you Grandma Barb and Grandma Bonnie!

The Big 4!!

This past weekend Lindsey celebrated her 4th Birthday! She was so excited to be 4, like all of her friends at school and especially her best friend Leah. She asked a few times on Saturday, "I am 4 now, right?" Just to make sure! She wanted a gymnastics party, so we invited a few friends and Nana and Papa and we celebrated Sophia the First style! The kids ran for an hour and then sucked up some sugar, it was a great party! Lindsey is definitely our one of a kind. There is no one quite like her. While sometimes she could be frustrating and definitely test our patience, she makes us laugh and smile everyday. She has a great sense of humor and she is fearless! She loves to play with her dolls and wear pretty dresses, but she also loves to play in the woods with her brother and doesn't mind a little dirt! We love you to pieces Lindsey Marie, always will!

Farm Houses, Farms, and Mountains, Oh My!!!!

Last week the Army gave Lee some time off so he and I took advantage. A few months ago when he heard he was getting the week off, we kindly asked Aunt Laurie if she would be willing to watch our kids for a few days. We thought if we went during the week it wouldn't be too stressfull since the kids would be busy with school and activities, and there would hopefully be no snow. She was super excited I asked her and even more excited to spend a few days with the kids. Any extra time they can squeeze in with our family the kids love! After much consideration Lee and I decided to venture to Woodstock, Vermont. We stayed at the most beautiful B&B and when we left, decided Vermont was in our top 5 places to retire. Everything was beautiful and simple. There was no crazy city feel, it just felt simmple. A general store in each town, great little dives and fancy places to eat, and lots of nature to enjoy. While I am not a camper by any means, I do love nature and all its beauty, well, except for snakes! The biggest draw for me, the farm houses, and there were farm houses galore! I have never really like modern or contemporary houses, it's just not me, so Vermont was right up my alley! Not to say that modern isn't pretty, just not my style. By the second night I was checking out real estate! Anyway, a girl can dream right? So a HUGE THANK YOU to Aunt Laurie who survived a week at our house. Thanks to our friends who helped as well! Lee and I had the most amazing trip and really connected, something I think every couple needs once in a while. It was such a bitter sweet trip for us but totally worth every second! We ate yummy food, went to the Baseball Hall of Fame, we antiqued, we toured Ben & Jerry's, we strolled, we visited 2 covered bridges, we golfed and I even got up early each morning to take in the scenery with a run with Lee! It was WONDERFUL! I can't wait for our next adventure.

Picture Perfect

Lately I have been a bit obsessed with taking pictures. October is just a little half way through and I already took 260 pictures this month! I am trying to capture everything, well, almost everything. I may just have to invest in a good camera. Hmm...Mother's Day present? hint hint So I think this blog will be a little text and a lot of pictures. The photos will tell the story of what we have been up to!
