Pokeydots
Recently we read a book about aliens that invaded the North Pole and put a pair of underwear with each toy a child got for Christmas. Leave it up to Pokey (aka as Pokeydots to Lindsey), our elf, to decorate Jacob's room in underwear that night and hang some on our stocking line. Crazy elf!
Who's the Boss?
There is no doubt in my mind that someday Lindsey will be the CEO of some major corporation...she has no trouble at all being the BOSS!! However she will need to work on a few things...1) The headband goes underneath your hair 2)You have to use the bathroom to potty, the Don't Break the Ice game won't do.
A Night on the Town
This past weekend was non-stop activities for Jacob. On Friday night he and Lee went to see the Pens play Ottawa in Canada. It was his first NHL game and he loved it! On Saturday night he had a date with 3 of his best girl friends. Last year Jen V, Lisa and I took the kids to the nutcracker after a fancy dinner (for the kids) at Jen's. This year we hosted the fancy dinner. They kids ate together in the dining room and the mom's got a chance to eat a bunch of yummy appetizers and gab away in the kitchen! Then we were off to the show. Next year, we decided we will make the trip to Syracuse to see the full version. They all loved it!!

Christmas List
This past weekend was filled with all sorts of Christmas fun...especially for Jacob. On Thursday night I took him to see the high school Select Choir perform their Christmas program filled with songs and dancing. His BFF Seth was there too and they loved it. Friday night our family met with friends at the local zoo. It was decorated with lights and music for Christmas. It was cold and even started to snow but that didn't stop our kiddos. Saturday night Jacob and I met up with the Voss's in Sackets Harbor to see The Littlest Elf. It was a Christmas musical and we both really enjoyed it! I absolutely love the holidays and we are definitely checking off our Christmas to-do list!
Can we just eat it?
If it was up to the kids, they would have just eaten some icing and candy and called it finished! However, as tradition has it, we built our gingerbread house on Saturday. Low and behold like most men, Lee didn't feel the need to read the directions. I mean, it is a gingerbread house...If they can build real houses why do they need to read directions for an edible one? Next time, he probably should let the icing dry before having to hold up the sides of the roof with juice boxes...but it did finally dry! Thank God he is like my own McGuyver! Love you hun!
Pictures with Santa....what happened?
Whatever happened to those cute 5x7 cards that had a picture of the kids with Santa and cost about $5.00? Christmas is so commercialized now that even a picture with Santa cost $24.99 for 2 5x7s! We attempted the mall on Saturday knowing Linds probably wouldn't sit on his lap. There was a big sign that said no personal photos allowed! So I tried for a picture but Lindsey wouldn't let me put her down and I tried to sneak one and all I got was a blurry picture of Jacob and Santa. Oh well...he got to see one of Santa's helpers and Lindsey said hello to him as well (from my lap)! That is all that matters!
Ho Ho Ho!!

Wine On
This past weekend I went to wine country (the Finger Lakes) in NY with 13 other ladies from our old brigade. It was a blast! For $40, you can visit 34 wineries and you get a grapevine wreath and an ornament at every winery. Each place also serves a small tasting of food to pair with the wine and then you get a cookbook of all the recipes, not to mention all the wine (and some beer) we got to taste!! I am definitely coordinating this trip for all my girlfriends next year!
O Christmas Tree!
We attempted to cut our tree down this year but when we got to the place it was closed. Instead, we went back to our faithful place that we love, Simmons Farms in Copenhagen and picked out a tree. It was a bit odd not having snow on the ground and wearing rain boots instead but we got a perfect tree for our bay window and we love it!

Another Season on the Ice
Grateful
It has been a long time since I have updated my blog so there is no time like the present to get back in the groove!
Last week we went to PA for Thanksgiving. There weren't as many of us at the dinner table that night but over the weekend we got to visit with family and friends and really had a great time. I know it drives my sister nuts when I talk about only having a few more holidays in PA but I guess when I think about that, it makes me enjoy the ones we have even more. The recap of our weekend: playing outside, stuffing the turkey, seeing a hockey game, playing with cousins and friends, a Mupet Movie, and food, lots of food! Enjoy some pictures!

The LOOT
Trick or Treat
This is the 3rd year in a row that we have trick or treated with the Charltons. As most of you know, we don't have much action on our street so we head downtown to the Charltons neighborhood. The weather was perfect. The girls went door to door for one block and then headed back to hand out candy while the boys drove on! Lindsey had a blast walking up and down Jen's street about 5 times, looking at the kids, saying hello to neighbors and just taking in the night! Lee and I got to dress up for MJ's birthday part on Sat and an adult part on Sat night! We had a blast too!
Look Out Pens!
A Typical Day...
Tub Time
Pumpkin Carving
Last week we picked a warm night to carve our pumpkins! Lindsey got to draw with markers on hers and we carved the other 2 with Jake! It was super fun! Trying to get a picture of Lindsey and the 2 boys together was not easy especially when Linds decided she rather be sitting in the star planter I have!
It is Never too Late
Yes, I have been a terrible blogger lately..or should I say a non-blogger! Tonight I will attempt to recap the last 2 weeks..briefly!
First off...with Lee's crazy work schedule it was hard to find a time to throw a little party for Lindsey in Watertown. We squeezed in a birthday lunch on a Sunday with a couple friends. At least for this celebration she was able to wear her birthday outfit and was feeling well!

One More Birthday Wish!
Happy Birthday Sis!
2nd Birthday Wishes
Just the 2 of Us!
On her birthday, I decided to take Lindsey to the zoo. I haven't taken her there since she was in the stroller and this time I let her walk the entire zoo! She loved it and I loved the time we got to spend together! The weather was a little cool but a few minutes in to the zoo the sun finally came out! We had a great time!
