Jen and her kids go strawberry picking every year and it was time for us to get out there as well! This past Sunday we went to breakfast with the Sweet family and then strawberry picking! It was a bit cool and rainy but so much fun! Lindsey ate 2 that she picked while in the field and then decided it was more fun to pick the wild flowers. Lee and Jacob did a great job picking and Jake was super excited that Annabelle was there with him! We picked a ton of strawberries and I made Jen's amazing strawberry crisp that night. We had some berries leftover but they were gone in a day!

Mountainfest 2011
Last week I had the chance to take Jacob to Mountainfest on Fort Drum in between rain showers. We had a blast together and he tried some things he had never done before. One was climbing the rock wall, he got about half way up and realized how high he was and was ready to fall back down. He was so proud of himself. I completely forgot my camera so these are just bitty ones from my phone! We went back that night with Linds for the fireworks but ended up getting rained out! Hopefully we can catch some for the 4th!

Dancing in the Rain
Tonight after dinner Lee took the kids outside to play. It was so warm and sticky and we were going to get out the sprinkler. By the time I was done with the dishes, I could hear Lee yelling to the kids that it was raining. They were riding in Jacob's car and the next thing I knew, they were running in the rain. Then they were in the pool filled with rain water. They were having a blast, who needs a sprinkler?
Last Game of the Season
A New Island to Explore
Jen and Ro told us about TI Park on Wellsley Island, about 45 mins from here. It is such a beautiful place with amazing summer homes. We decided to make an evening out of it on Father's Day. We took a bike ride around the island, had a picnic, played at the playground, and had ice cream at this adorable shop. It was a perfect night!

Cook-out #2
Old Mac's
On Thursday we took the kids to Old Mac's Farm. Lee had to sit this one out on account of our dog Sugar hurting her leg. (another story)
Lindsey was a little taken aback at first by the animals being up close and personal. The only ones she really seemed to love were the kittens and the cows, go figure. However, they had a great time. It is one place you could take Jake every year and he would still love it!

Celebration
Graduation Day
This is the first of many graduations we are looking forward to with our children! Jacob graduated from pre-k this past Wed. It was a musical event with lots of singing and dancing! All the kids did a great job! We are so proud of Jacob and all that he has learned. He continues to amaze us everyday and is growing so fast! Happy Moving-Up Day Jake!

Cook-out #1
Last Saturday we decided to throw a seafood cook-out and invite the Charltons over. They love clams and cook them really well on the grill and I made home-made crab cakes. The food was sooo good including Jen's fruit tarts for dessert (and a of course smores)! Lee keeps asking me to get the recipe! Good food and great company= a great night!

Beat It!
Last night the kids and I went to Relay for Life. It was great to see so many teams there last night and to walk through the tents and be able to donate some money to a special cause. However the best part of the night included 2 things:
1. Watching Roland walk the survivor lap! We love you Uncle Ro!
2. We went to a tent to buy a cupcake and there was a "birthday" sign to write the name of someone who is celebrating a birthday that has beaten cancer. Jacob said to me, "Mom, will you write Papa's name on there?" It was the sweetest thing and I could barely hold back tears--sweet boy!
I tried to explain to him what relay for life meant and that we were here to support Mr Roland and all the people we knew that were not sick anymore (like Papa and Uncle Fred) and some that are still sick. He didn't forget what I said and it was the cutest thing ever!
If you ever get the chance to attend or be part of a relay for life, I strongly encourage you to do it! Help beat cancer!
