Last weekend our friends Matt and Mackenzie invited us to their new cottage on the lake! It is a perfect little cottage to get-a-way, right on the water! The best part, the weather was close to 80 degrees and even the cooler water didn't stop our kids or husbands from getting wet! We had a great time with some of our great friends! Thanks for an awesome day!

PIG PARTY!
These 2 pictures say it all...we feasted on Pig and were stuffed..doesn't Lindsey look like she ate too much pig? haha
Last weekend on Saturday night we went to the Voss's Meatfest and had a blast! It was a bit wet so we put rain boots on the kids and they ran and played until they crashed! We then put the kids to bed, called the sitter, and went back for a little adult time! It was a great time and we look forward to next year!
ORG DAY
Usually once a year Lee's unit on Drum has an ORG Day...a mandatory day of fun for soldiers and their families are invited too! This year it was during a school day which stunk for Jake but Lindsey really enjoyed it! The soldiers played various sports, there was a ton of food and bounce houses for the little ones! Lindsey and Lee really loved getting to spend a day together!

Natural Entertainment
We have been trying to get outside every night after dinner and enjoy the beautiful fall weather. Last night after our walk, Lindsey and Jacob discovered a caterpillar. It kept them completely entertained for about a half hour. Lindsey was a bit skittish at first to hold it but anything that Jake does she will do, and soon enough it was on her arm!
Apples, Hay and Pumpkins...Oh My!
Another Sweet Day
This past Saturday was our 4th time at the Lowville Cream Cheese Festival. The weather was perfect and so was our day! The kids had a blast on all the bounce houses, slides, rock wall, etc. Lindsey had no fear and wanted to everything Jake did as long as he was with her. We had lunch, Lindsey passed out in the stroller, we walked around and of course had a big bite of the World's Largest Cheesecake!
Cinderella Cinderella
My in-laws came to visit last weekend and we have a great time with them. They got here on Friday and hung out with Lee and the kiddos while I had an event on Drum. Saturday morning, the first order of business was Grandma's delicious breakfast (she rocks at breakfast) and then a haircut for each kid! My sister-in-law sent up this old costume from my niece and it fit Lindsey perfectly! I guess we have a Halloween costume.
He made it 8 days...

Sadness....
This week has been a whirlwind. Just when you think things in your life are crazy, you have to stop and realize, things are not that bad and they could be so much worse. I don't know what is going on but something is strange. Earthquakes, blackouts, hurricanes, flooding, wildfires, where will it end?
I can barely find the words to type this but I feel like I need to get it out. This past week my hometown was overcome with disaster. Hundreds of families lost their homes, possessions, etc in a horrible flood that came on too quickly with little notice. It is heartbreaking to watch the news and feel so helpless as you see videos and pictures of your hometown under water. On top of that, my (only)cousins had to evacuate and they lost so much of their home. The water came in to the basement and about 4ft on their first floor. Thankfully, they are safe but the damage the river left behind is unreal. My heart breaks for them and my town. Thank you to the servicemen who helped and continue to help all the victims. I pray for all the families that have no homes to go home to and I pray that my town will once again be a beautiful tree lined village. Below are just some images from the raging river.

Little Sis
Finally....the big day!
It seemed like since the last day of pre-school we have been talking about his first day of kindergarten and finally the day had arrived! Despite the cool and wet weather he hopped on the bus like a champ, did exactly what the teacher had told him to do at school (putting his backpack in his cubby and putting his name on the board), he found the chair with his name on it and he was ready!
It was great to see him get on that bus but a little sad. He is going to have a great year and I am super excited for him! We love you Jacob and are super proud of you!
