Love at First Sight
Jake always falls in love with someone when we see a show. First it was Grease, then Mary Poppins, and now Clara. None of the girls would get their picture the ballerinas but I knew that Jake really wanted to. I told him it was fine for him to get his picture taken and a little confidence was all he needed. He was overjoyed to get his picture taken with Clara.

A Night to Remember
I have always loved the Nutcracker. I mean, I am not a huge ballet fan, but the Nutcracker is Christmas to me and I was so excited to take Jacob this year. However, I think Jacob was even more excited than me! He has been counting down the days and woke up extra early this morning asking if today was the day! We joined Jen Voss and her girls (Sophia and Maya) and Lisa and Annabelle. First we went to the Voss's where the kids had a "fancy" dinner while the adults had some great finger foods! Then we were off to the show!

Our Letter
I got this ornament when Lee was on his 2nd tour in Iraq in 2005. I loved it and it made me cry the second I read it. It still brings tears to my eyes but we put it on the tree every year Lee can't be with us at Christmas. We love you and miss you! We know you are making this world a better place but we can't wait to see you!

No Santa for Me!
This was the first time Lindsey has seen Santa up close. Jake loves Santa and has never been afraid to sit on his lap. Again, a different egg. Lindsey was OK with the Elf at first. However, when it came time to sit on Santa's lap, her grip became magnetic to my arm! I put her on his lap and within 2 seconds came the scream! She was not having Santa. So, what did I do, I got in the picture with Santa! ahhh I swore I would never do that, but I did and it isn't half bad. Afterwards, Linds would walk within a couple feet of him, stare at him, and then run back to me! Jake on the other hand was super excited to see him and couldn't even remember what to ask him for! It was priceless......

Christmas Program
The Christmas Spirit
Today was Jacob's Xmas program at school, the kids were definitely in the Christmas spirit. It was wonderful and I only cried once. They sang a bunch of songs, said the prayers, the Pledge, danced, and gave their moms a special present they made.I will try to upload all the videos. There are 13 kids in his class which means about 40 family members smooshed in their tiny room to see the show. I ended up having to move to the side of the room to get a decent angle, I did the best I could. BEFORE YOU WATCH THIS VIDEO---I just realized this is the video I took of Jacob after he played in the snow for almost 2 hours! He was snoring and drooling by 6pm that night! haha

And snow it begins....
I tried hard today to think of a few good things I love about the snow and after shoveling it 4 times, cleaning off my roof for 1 hour, falling on my cellar doors, and taking some pain meds for a sore back I have only come up with one thing, watching Jake in the snow, he is the only reason I tolerate it. The child loves it, loves to eat it, slide in it, jump in it, lay in it, play with Princess in it (this is his favorite), etc etc. We spent almost 2 hours in it today (Lindsey was sleeping)and he was exhausted, he fell asleep at 6pm on his chair, woke up, had a bath and went to bed. And today is only the beginning of it!

The Puzzle Piece
Have you ever done a puzzle and realize just one piece is missing? Then it just seems like where ever you are you think about that piece! Whether you are driving, shoveling snow, making dinner, playing with kids, at the grocery store, mall, watching TV, etc. Well, I can say that I have a HUGE piece of my puzzle missing and especially at this time of year I think about it all the time. The holidays just aren't the same without that missing piece but I know it won't be long now till he finds his way home! We miss and love you!
Our Little Tree with Lots of Love
I was a bit worried about getting the tree this year. More than anything, trusting myself not to be crazy and pick out the normal 7' tree we get. We packed up and headed up the road to my friend Sherry's and found the PERFECT little tree. It is small, but honestly, it was just the right size for Jake to decorate! Lindsey has a couple ornaments she loves to pull off and look at, but we all knew there was no way she was going to stay away from the tree! There was a life size Santa that dance and sang at Sherry's and Lindsey and Jake loved him!
