Maple Days

When Jacob was 2 he and I went to Maple Days in Croghan, NY and have not been able to go since. Laurie and I took the kids last year to Maple Days on Fort Drum. This past Saturday Jake was not feeling very well and we weren't able to go to Croghan with the Sweets, he was so sad. Fortunately, he felt much better on Sunday and we decided to make the trek. We had a huge breakfast of pancakes and sausage at the Maple Museum then we visited 2 sugar shacks! It is so fascinating to me how the whole process works to make just 1 gallon of maple syrup! Did you know it could take about 45 buckets of sap to make just 1 gallon? We definitely purchased some to take home and eat on our pancakes! It was cold, but such a great family day!

REAL maple syrup is the best and the only kind we eat in our house.

I never liked maple syrup until I tried the real stuff last year. OMG...it rocks! That store-bought stuff is not even close!
