Coach
When the idea of coaching came up, Lee never hesitated to volunteer. Baseball was his first love, I think even more than playing football. He is an AWESOME coach, he is patient, encouraging, and fun and the all the kids love him! However, there is one player that loves him the most...Jacob.
Batter Up!!
Finally, we had a night without rain and Jacob had his first t-ball game! I didn't have to ask him more than once to get his uniform on! On his first time up to bat he hit it clear to 2nd base and the second time he hit it to the pitcher. It was so much fun to watch them play. They all take turns batting, just about everyone gets around to home plate and it took a whole hour for 2 innings. As you can only imagine, Lindsey lasted about 1/2 hour and then we headed to the car. She watched a DVD and I watched the game, definitely getting a sitter for the next game! Jacob is so proud and we are so proud of him!
Our Little Garden
We have been talking about it for a few years and after my sister Donna nagged me to take out the bushes behind our house, we did it--well--Lee did it. It took Lee about 5 hours but he dug up the bushes and this past Monday he and Jacob planted our little garden. Jacob woke up this morning and asked to go outside to see if we have any tomatoes. He watered the plants tonight and is so excited. Now we wait and watch and hopefully eat!

Swinging Away the Weekend
Supporting our Armed Forces
A Night To Remember
This past Friday was our 1BSTB ball in Alexandria Bay, NY. The setting and scenery were beautiful. The soldiers were dressed to the nines and so were (most of) the women. Lee and I weren't sure what this formal would be like. The last ball we went to was with an amazing close group of friends from our old unit. Surprisingly, we had a great time and partied till midnight with a really great group of soldiers and their dates.

Dreary Days
Lately, even 10 minutes of the sun shining is amazing! Today when we got home it wasn't raining and the kids ran out in the yard! I let them play a few minutes just until their feet were completely soaked! I can't wait to not put their raincoats on them!

Kindergarten-here he comes!
Today was Jacob kindergarten screening and he did awesome! When we left he said, "Mom, I am so excited, can I got to kindergarten tomorrow?" I am so proud of him and a little bit shocked that he will be going to kindergarten in just 3 months! He is very ready..me on the other hand..I may need a whole box of tissues!
Our Little Shark
This past weekend we had our yard sale. We decided to do it on Friday and Sat and we are thankful we did. Friday turned out to be a really warm day and the shoppers came out. Saturday was a bit more chilly and wet but that didn't stop Jacob for putting together his lemonade stand. When Lee and I mentioned to him on Wednesday that he could have a stand he wanted to make his lemonade that night he was so excited. On Friday we made mini blueberry muffins, strawberry lemonade and he created his sign with pictures and all (after convincing him that .25 is better than charging $2.00 for lemonade, he has big dreams.) He was so excited and sat in the garage with me for over 2 hours. He made $1.50 and was so excited. Now on to bigger and better, he is going to reopen his stand at the Memorial Day parade at my parent's house in PA!
Let's Get Wet
Last week, which seemed like a completely different season, Jake and I introduced Lindsey to the water table! Boy, did she love it! She is getting in trouble at daycare for playing in the water and has at least 3 outfit changes during the day due to her shirt being wet. This was total free play in the water and she and Jake played in it for over an hour! I can't wait for the warm weather to come back!

Cheers to You!
I tried to get as many Mom's as I could in these pictures! Mom's, Grandma's, Great-grandma, Godmothers---CHEERS to you!
A Thousand Thanks
Mother's Day brings to mind
The thousands of things you did for me
that helped make me happier,
stronger and wiser,
because I had you as a role model.
I'm grateful for all the times
you healed my hurts
and calmed my fears,
so that I could face the world
feeling safe and secure.
I'm thankful for all you showed me
about how to love and give--
lessons that now bring
so many blessings to me
each and every day.
Your sacrifices and unselfishness
did not go unnoticed, Mom.
I admire you, I respect you,
I love you.
And I'm so glad you're my mother!
Happy Mother's Day!

A Mother's Day Picnic
I will have to look back, but I don't remember a year Lisa Sweet and I didn't spend Mother's Day together. Maybe the year they were in Kansas, but today we didn't want to break tradition. Lisa and I didn't want to drag the kids to a restaurant for a meal that our kids would sit at for 15 mins. Instead, we had a fantastic day outside. We all went to Sackets Harbor where we tired the kids out at the playground, had a yummy picnic brunch, then played on the battlefield. While we were there, we found a letterbox and the Sweets got to do their first letter box with us! It was a great day!
From the Heart
The best gifts I had this Mother's Day were from the heart, Jacob's heart. He was so excited to make me gifts that he made a truckload. He created 3 Lego toys for me, a cherry blossom tree at Pam's, my own cup, a planter with Dad at Home Depot (sorry Sweets), a special plant at school, etc etc. He is super thoughtful and I love him to pieces!
