Perfect Day #2

On Saturday, we had our second perfect day! First we stopped at Home Depot to make a school bus pencil holder. I didn't take a picture yet because Jake painted it today and is waiting for it to dry. I will get one of the final product. After Home Depot, we headed to Alex Bay for Pirate Days. In the 5 years we have lived here, we have never been to Pirate Days. I had a feeling though Jake would really like it and the weather was perfect! We had to park about 3 long blocks from the Main Street but once we got there, Jake was totally engaged, checking out all the people dressed up! First we had a bite to eat, then we took a walk along the docks to see all the boats. I think everyone in NY had their boats on the River and decorated too! Jake asked if he could go on each one of them, but I didn't think the owners would be too happy! After that, we walked about 3 blocks to see the Pirates being arrested and preparing for battle with a few practice fights. Then, the lead Pirate asked the crowd to follow him back to the River to prepare for the invasion! We walked all the way back to the docks, up a few hills and down a few, right on to the little island on the river. We grabbed a seat under a tree so Lindsey could get out and about, and Jake could watch as the Pirate ships came down the river on the attack! It was really fun! After, we made the long trek back to our car but not once did Jake complain. After about 100 questions about Pirates, he and Lindsey conked out! It truly was a perfect day, again!
